I love my cute little kitchen Christmas tree! We are old school and think multi-colored lights are the best (they remind me of childhood.) Our new tradition is adding ornaments every year from places we've visited - this year we're adding ones from Hawaii and Nashville (Country Music Hall of Fame)! Way better than t-shirts.

Aloha!
Probably wasn't the best timing to start a blog and then run off on a week long girls trip, but hey, it happened. I wish I were baller status enough to just jet off to Hawaii, but I must admit that one of my very best friends lives there, and my other very best friend Lauren and I couldn't pass up such a sweet opportunity. Holly, who was recently featured on HuffPost Hawaii, (I have famous friends), was our very own tour guide.
We ate acai bowls, hiked KoKo Head and relaxed at some of the most amazing beaches. Here is a glimpse of the paradise: that is Oahu:

Friendmoon success. Now I'm back to reality with barely 60 degree weather. Boo.

i heart bar carts.
Let me tell you one of my least favorite things....ever. You're on the hunt for a piece of furniture and you FIND IT! Anddddd then you see the price. Take, for example, this gorgeous bar cart below via 1stdibs.com:
1stdibs.com - $1,600 |
Don't have $1,600? Me either. That's why when Mom and Tara found this gorgeous Italian bar cart we almost fell over. Mom had to have glass cut for each of its tiers, but other than that, it was in great condition! Email getinwiththeold@gmail.com to make an offer!
Brass & glass bar cart - $285 |

Ikea Hack
First post - here goes nothin'. My mom (Donna), sister (Tara), and I have been obsessed with finding cool pieces for our houses for, well, forever. We've finally tried to get tech-savvy and actually create a blog to show (and hopefully sell)some of the cool things we find! To kick it off, I want to share a little secret I recently learned via Pinterest - Ikea Hack. Here's the deal - you buy an inexpensive piece of Ikea furniture, paint it, change the hardware and BAM! It's midcentury modern.
See below:
See below:
Before: Ikea Vittsjo Shelving Unit - $49.99
After: Gold spray paint + 2 shelves = true love.
Stay tuned for some pretty sweet items we'll be listing that are up for grabs!
